UBC Resources

Regent College is affiliated with the University of British Columbia, one of Canada's largest universities. This relationship gives our students access to a wide range of resources, opportunities, and perks.

Alma Mater Society (AMS)

Due to Regent's affiliation with the University of British Columbia, Regent students who take 3 or more credit hours per term are members of the UBC Alma Mater Society (AMS). This brings a number of tangible benefits, including:

Your Campus Wide Login

The Campus Wide Login (CWL) is separate from the Regent Login, and is maintained by UBC’s IT department. All Regent students are eligible for an Affiliate CWL.

You must set up your CWL in order to:

  • Get a UBCcard and access the benefits it unlocks (e.g., U-Pass use, access to certain UBC facilities)
  • Access UBC library resources (book check-out and online databases)
  • Access UBC online services and computer labs
  • Access the eduroam wireless network

Note: If you're a UBC alum, please do not use your previous UBC CWL. Create a brand new Affiliate CWL instead.

UBCcard

As a Regent student, you are automatically assigned a UBC ID number and are eligible for a UBCcard. This card identifies you as an affiliate student who qualifies for certain benefits both on and off the UBC campus.

In order to request a UBCcard, you must first:

  • Register for your courses at Regent. Once you've registered, we will forward your information to UBC and you will be eligible to obtain a UBCcard.
  • Have a Campus Wide Login (CWL). You will need to log in with your CWL to request a UBCcard. Visit our Campus Wide Login page for more information and instructions on how to set up a CWL.

Request a UBCcard

If you are new to Regent, or if your UBCcard has expired or will expire soon, you can request your UBCcard at UBCcard Online Services. Please note that the picture on your UBCcard must meet certain photo specifications.

UBC Libraries

Regent students have borrowing privileges throughout the University of British Columbia's library network and beyond. Visit the Allison Library's Reciprocal Borrowing page for more details.

To find out about the UBC's library facilities, onsite holdings, and online resources, please visit the UBC Library homepage.

UBCcard & Library Account

Your UBCcard serves as your library card and grants access and borrowing privileges for all UBC Library facilities. Your Library barcode number is printed on the back of the card.

To access your UBC library account (e.g., to check out and renew books online), you'll need to sign in with your UBCcard bar code and PIN.

  1. Open the login page for My Library Account.
  2. Scroll down to the Standard Library Login option and enter your UBC Card barcode and PIN. (Note: Do not use your CWL login here.)

CWL & Online Resources

Your Campus Wide Login gives you access to UBC Library's online resources (e.g., online journals and databases).

Library building access is updated every academic year, but online library access is updated each term. If you are not registered for any courses, your online resources access will be revoked. However, you will be able to access Library facilities until August 31 of the last year in which you registered for courses (or until your UBCcard expires, whichever comes first).
