New Students

Starting graduate studies can be a big transition, but we're here to help. This page exists primarily to help you navigate Regent's website and find information that will be helpful as you get ready to begin your program.
If you have questions at any time, please feel free to get in touch! Your Admissions Counsellor is a great resource who can provide information or point you in the right direction to learn more. You're also welcome to get in touch with our Dean of Students Office—they'll also be reaching out to you as your start date approaches!
Plan Your Studies
Now that you've been admitted, it's time to start planning a path through your program.
Academic Advising
We strongly encourage new students to get in touch with Academic Advising as you make decisions about your program and plan your courses. This is especially important if you have specific goals such as finishing in a certain amount of time, minimizing Vancouver residency, or balancing your schoolwork with other responsibilities.
Our Academic Advisor is also a great resource if you have special accessibility needs due to a disability or ongoing medical condition. We want to make sure you have the support you need as you begin your program, including any academic accommodations to which you may be entitled. (For more information, please see our Accessibility & Accommodation page.)

Set Up Your Tech
As a Regent student, you'll make frequent use of two sets of online credentials: your Regent Login, and your Campus Wide Login.
You probably already have a Regent Login, which gives you access to a wide range of resources. Before arriving on campus, make sure you know your Regent Login name and password, plus how to use it to access REGIS and Moodle.
You'll need to create your Campus Wide Login (CWL), which gives you access to various UBC resources, including the U-Pass. (Note: It's worth getting a CWL even if you're not studying on campus, because it allows you to access UBC's extensive online library resources.)
You can find more information about Regent's IT setup, including wi-fi networks, printer access, and how to contact the IT Helpdesk on our IT & Information Systems page.
Connect with Community
Students like you make Regent a great community. We're excited to get to know you and hear your story, and we look forward to the gifts you might have to offer in our life together.
Visit the Community Life section of this site for ideas on how to get connected.
- The two teams most directly involved in community life at Regent are the Dean of Students Office and the Regent College Students Association Council.
- Visit our Activities & Events and Worship & Spiritual Formation pages to learn about some of the ways they facilitate community at Regent.
Orientation
Don't miss New Student Orientation! Hosted by the Dean of Students Office, Orientation is designed to help new students make a smooth and successful transition into the life of the Regent College community. Orientation is also a great time to meet Regent’s faculty and begin connecting with other students. Many alumni have told us that they formed their most important friendships at Regent during New Student Orientation. If you’re an incoming student, please plan to join us, even if you are a Vancouver local! If you're married, your spouse is also encouraged to participate.
