U-Pass Fees are available to certain students on a monthly basis. (See our U-Pass page for details.)

Student Fee Descriptions

The following five fees are lumped together as Student Fees because they fund specific student benefits. For information about various other fees you may encounter during your time at Regent, see our Occasional Fees page.

Regent College Student Association Fee

This fee provides membership in the Regent College Student Association (RCSA). It supports the RCSA's work, which includes representing students in the life of the Regent, representing Regent students to UBC, publishing the College newsletter (Et Cetera), and organizing social activities throughout the year.

Students who pay this fee are eligible to vote for their representatives on the RCSA Council each year.

Regent College Retreat Fee

This fee supports the costs of Regent's annual Fall Retreat.

AMS Membership Fee

This fee grants membership in UBC's Alma Mater Society (AMS), which provides access to UBC libraries, certain sports facilities, student discounts, and connections with UBC clubs and student government processes

U-Pass Fee

The U-Pass, provided through the AMS, gives students highly subsidized access to Vancouver area public transit—typically around 75 percent less than a member of the public would pay for an equivalent pass.

NoteStudents who live outside the Metro Vancouver area or meet specific other criteria may be eligible for a U-Pass exemption. See our Transportation & U-Pass page for details.

AMS Health & Dental Fee

This fee provides access to the AMS Health & Dental Plan, which covers expenses not covered by basic health care plans provided by the province. It covers a range of prescription drugs, dental care, psychologist visits, travel health coverage, vision care, and much more.

Note: Students who live outside Canada or have equivalent coverage within Canada may be able to opt out of the AMS Health & Dental plan during the Change of Coverage Period at the beginning of each term. See our Healthcare page for details.
