Activities & Events

Getting Together
The Dean of Students Office, the Regent College Student Association, and other entities within the College support the experience of students by organizing a variety of events, activities, and opportunities for community throughout the year. The following are some of our regularly-scheduled favourites, but keep an eye on the College events calendar, the RCSA calendar, and especially our Weekly Announcement emails to keep up with what's coming up.
Community Groups & Trios
We encourage all onsite students and their families to join a community (soup) group at Regent. These groups are led by an appointed faculty and/or student leader. Each week they gather for one hour of connection and care following our Tuesday Chapel gathering
Many groups plan meals together, service opportunities, or retreats together. To sign up for a community group on campus, head to rgnt.net/groups.
A trio is a group of three Regent friends who would like to journey together in spiritual friendship. Trios meet either online or in person at a place and time of your choice. To sign up for a trio, head to rgnt.net.trios.
Fall Retreat
Each September, we start the school year with a retreat for Regent students, staff, faculty, spouses, and kids. This is a chance for us to get away and connect with God, creation, each other, and ourselves—a time to worship, eat, play, and rest as we grow in friendship with one another.
The retreat takes place at RockRidge Canyon, a beautiful Young Life camp tucked in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains near Princeton, BC.
The weekend typically includes:
- Special teaching sessions offered by a member of faculty on a topic close to their heart.
- Opportunities to get to know faculty and fellow students in small groups.
- A Céilí Dance—a fun, Irish style of folk dancing for which you need no prior skill or experience.
- A variety show—always full of laughter and talent.
- Plenty of free time to rest, study, hike, swim, kayak, mountain bike, or zipline.
Audible
Hosted by Regent's Christianity & the Arts team, Audible events feature Regent student performances of stories, poems, and songs. Often featuring original work from members of the student body, these relaxed evening events offer space for creativity, community, and connection. Witnessing our student body's creative gifts is always a highlight of the term.
Gathering Table
Gathering Table is an opportunity for members of the Regent community to gather to share a meal during the week outside of the Regent building. Consider signing up to attend a meal hosted by some of our Regent students and faculty. These are weekly events where different people sign up each week, and are a great way of meeting new people in our Regent community.
Taste of the World
An absolute highlight of each year, Taste of the World is a festival of flavour from the many home countries and cultures represented by members of the Regent community. As we eat our fill of delicious dishes from around the world, we celebrate the beautiful diversity of our community and the global church. Taste of the World is an incredibly fun evening, not to be missed!
Academic Symposium
Every year the Regent College Student Association hosts a showcase of academic research from current students. The Symposium seeks to represent the diversity of interests, disciplines, and perspectives brought to the table by our student body and to bring our community together in conversation over the ideas being generated by our students.
For presenters, the Symposium offers a great opportunity to
- practice delivering a paper at an academic conference,
- invite students, staff and faculty into your research, and
- foster the sort of Christian interdisciplinary conversation that nourishes our community.
For attendees, the Symposium offers a unique opportunity to learn what students are studying, ask questions about their research, and broaden your perspective with fresh and intriguing ideas.
L'Chaim
L’Chaim ("To Life!") is Regent’s year-end celebration, hosted by the RCSA. All students, staff, and faculty are welcome to this spring semi-formal. Join us for dinner, activities, reflections, and dancing! Plus-ones and little ones are welcome at this family-friendly event.
