Jared Borders

Jared is entering the final year of his MDiv degree at Regent College and is also part of the Artizo apprenticeship program run by St. John’s Vancouver. Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, Jared previously worked full-time as a management consultant while also serving part-time in homeless case management. Since beginning his theological studies, he has been both personally convicted and communally encouraged to pursue pastoral ministry within the Anglican tradition. He is currently interning at King’s Cross Church, a church plant in East Vancouver.

This article explores Canada's MAID program through historical, theological, and ethical lenses, challenging the notions of autonomy and suffering. It calls the Church to respond with compassion, a theology of life as gift, and a commitment to care rather than eliminate suffering.
