Introductory Hebrew II
Course Description
This course is a continuation of LANG 510. Our primary focus this term will be the Hebrew verb system with an emphasis on the various forms of the Hebrew verb (morphology). At the same time, we will be continuing to work on building our vocabulary base and expanding our capacity to translate biblical texts.Winter 2026
Onsite: This course section is available onsite only in Vancouver with Matthew Lynch.
Online: This course section is available online-only with Joseph Lee. Class time for the online section will be divided between asynchronous pre-recorded lectures and live classes via Zoom (1 hour each week). Prior to the first live class, students should view both recorded lectures (available on Moodle) and complete the reading for that day. Live classes will take place on Fridays 8:30–9:30 am (Pacific Time). Students who cannot participate due to their time zone will have access to recordings of the live classes for one week. Please notify the instructor if you are unable to participate in live sessions.

  Matthew Lynch
Bruce K. Waltke Associate Professor of Old Testament
Matthew Lynch holds MATS and ThM degrees from Regent College and a PhD from Emory University. He joined the Regent College faculty in summer 2020. Matthew is the author of several books, including Flood and Fury: Old Testament Violence and the Shalom of God (IVP Academic, 2023). He is also a founder and co-host of the OnScript podcast, where he frequently interviews biblical scholars about their work.
