Regent College is thrilled to welcome you to our online home. If you’ve been here before, you’ll notice we’ve remodeled! We hope you’ll take a few minutes to look around, pull up a seat, and make yourself comfortable.

The new structure and design of this space is the result of a years-long website redevelopment project led by Regent’s Communications and Public Engagement team, supported by Regent’s IT team, and made possible by the generous support of Regent’s wonderful donor community and the M. J. Murdock Charitable Trust. We are incredibly grateful to everyone whose ideas, resources, labour, and love went into making this project possible. You’ll find more about their contributions below.

A Fresh Expression of Regent College

This website redevelopment project and the accompanying brand refresh are described in Regent’s current strategic plan as “a fresh expression” of Regent College. Our goal throughout the project has been to welcome our community, and the broader public, into an online space that expresses Regent’s style, ethos, and values. We want everyone from prospective students to alumni and donors to find what they’re looking for, accomplish what they hope to accomplish on the site, and have a pleasant experience while they’re here. In short, we aim to offer the same hospitality to our online visitors that we strive to extend to those who join us under the green roof.

The “freshness” of our new site is immediately visible through Regent’s refreshed brand. Many established elements of Regent’s visual identity, including our classic logo and our distinctive Regent blue, remain central to this new expression, as does our commitment to a contemporary visual language and clear, positive tone. These familiar landmarks are embedded in a new landscape: an earthy colour palette inspired by the natural beauty of Vancouver and the Lower Mainland, updated typography, and a rich collection of original photography focused on candid images of Regent students and community members.

The new site layout, colour palette, and typography were developed by Regent’s Communications team in collaboration with Versett (formerly Domain7), the design firm behind Regent’s previous, award-winning website, and Monday Creative, a Vancouver-based marketing consultancy that helped Regent find its voice in a new way. We are grateful to the teams at both companies for their many contributions, and especially for the ways their work highlights Regent’s rootedness in place by drawing on the colours and shapes of our natural and built environment.

The new writing required for the website was done entirely in-house. On our home page in particular, you will find language that incorporates themes and expressions with deep resonance in the Regent community. Central to this new messaging is a bold invitation to “Explore the Difference Christ Makes to Everything,” which is based on a remark by longtime Regent faculty member Dr. J. I. Packer.

Beneath the site’s new look and feel is a completely new software architecture by an international leader in higher education website development, TerminalFour. If the website were a house, TerminalFour’s work would be the foundation and the beams inside the walls—the framework that supports the whole structure. TerminalFour was chosen to provide this vital infrastructure because of the stability and quality of their content management system, reflecting Regent’s desire to be both thoughtful and forward-looking in our approach to technology. TerminalFour collaborated closely with Regent’s Communications and IT teams to develop the site.

New Conversations, Fresh from The Vine

As part of our website relaunch, Regent is delighted to introduce a new online publication: The Regent Vine. This major new initiative has two goals: to equip the global church with excellent, timely, and accessible resources for theological reflection and engagement, and to build relationships with new audiences, including future students, who appreciate the conversations we’re having and would welcome further engagement with the College.

The Vine will publish ideas and perspectives from a wide range of people within and beyond Regent’s circles. You can expect to hear from Regent faculty, staff, students, and alumni. You can also expect to hear from other scholars and practitioners, both emerging and established. In articles and interviews, podcasts and videos, you’ll hear authentic voices speaking from experience and expertise about ideas that matter. Among new insights and fresh discussions, you’ll also find classic pieces that have been published before but have something new to contribute today. Many favourite pieces from Regent Audio, CRUX, and other legacy resources will re-surface on The Vine in the coming months and years. We look forward to sharing these gems with audiences old and new.

We encourage you to visit The Regent Vine today, where you’ll find a rich collection of material waiting to be explored. Even more importantly, we encourage you to visit often! We’ll be publishing new material at a brisk pace, so you’ll always find something new. You can also subscribe to receive a monthly digest email featuring highlights from recently published items.

Gratitude for a True Community Undertaking

God has provided richly for this undertaking. Funding for the new site’s development was provided by a significant grant from the M. J. Murdock Charitable Trust, an organization that has played an essential role in helping Regent expand its educational and public engagement capacities over the past decade. We are deeply grateful for the Trust’s generous support.
Vital additional funding for this project was provided by dozens of College alumni and friends who donated to our Digital Reach Expansion project. Their generosity was a gift not only to Regent, but to every person who will interact with this new website. We could not be more thankful. Just as importantly, we give thanks for the prayers offered for this project by so many people in and beyond the Regent community. Your support in seeing this process through to a faithful conclusion is a tremendous blessing.

It would have been impossible to create the website without the work and wisdom of our beloved late Webmaster, Ken McAllister. We invite you to read more about Ken’s extraordinary legacy at Regent on this memorial page. Another key leader in the early phases of this project was Amy Anderson, our former Director of Communications and Public Engagement. We gratefully recognize her thoughtful planning, stewardship, and decision-making as she worked to bring this project to life.

Essentially every member of Regent College’s current staff and faculty has contributed in some way to the development of this website, as have a number of former staff members and dozens of Regent students. Director of Communications and Public Engagement Jeremy Stewart, Director of IT Cam Tucker, Web Developer Billy Chau, and Regent’s entire Communications team have poured immense time, energy, and talent into our new website. We are grateful to each of them, and to everyone—including many not named here—who contributed to this project.

In many ways, the redevelopment of Regent’s website has been a spiritual pilgrimage as much as a technical process. Finally and most of all, we are grateful to the God who both creates and sustains, making all things possible through Christ. Soli Deo gloria.
