Leadership

President
Dr. Paul Spilsbury began his role as Regent College's sixth President in July 2025, ten years after joining the faculty as Academic Dean and Professor of New Testament. Before returning to Regent as a faculty member, he served at Canadian Bible College in Regina, Saskatchewan, where he became Professor of New Testament and played an integral role in the early formation and development of Ambrose University in Calgary.
Paul completed his doctoral studies at the University of Cambridge (Queen's College), where his research focused on the Jewish historian Flavius Josephus. His teaching covers the full range of the New Testament, with a particular focus on Paul and the Book of Revelation. He has authored or co-authored four books, published numerous book chapters, articles, and reviews, and traveled extensively throughout the Mediterranean and Middle Eastern regions associated with the ancient church. He is a frequent speaker at churches, retreats, and conferences, as well as a juried member of the Federation of Canadian Artists, working primarily in watercolours.
